Come by and visit the Clackamas SWCD as we join our partners at the Johnson Creek Watershed Council for Science in the Park! Participants at this family friendly event will hear stories and learn about local water bug friends with story time, a bug identification station, salmon obstacle course, and more!

This free event is a hands-on water science day of fun. Water bugs (macro invertebrates) and other creek wildlife are our focus, and we will also share some information about what individuals can do in their everyday lives to protect water quality.

Fun activity stations like macro invertebrate identification will be stationed throughout the park to take part in with your friends, family and children.

  • Who: Everyone is welcome, families encouraged!
  • What: Science in the Park! Activities, stories, and presentations by local specialists.
  • Where: Mill Park, 6201 SE Overland St. Milwaukie, OR
  • When: Sunday, September 7th 2019, from 12pm-2pm

Register today to attend this free event!

There will be a special raffle of a breathtaking photo book of underwater insects by Jan Hamrsky called Freshwater Life. Check out a preview of the book HERE.

Snacks will be provided.

The Johnson Creek Watershed Council hosts Science in the Park in partnership with North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District, Clackamas Soil and Water Conservation District, and Clackamas Water Environment Services as a fun way to learn about water ecology and quality. We hope to provide an engaging afternoon for Johnson Creek watershed residents and families to learn how we can all be better neighbors to the non-human species who call this area home, too!
