Reports of destructive and life-threatening wildfires that have occurred in western states in the past few years may make owners of forested land nervous about the upcoming dry weather of summer. Be proactive and educate yourself on the steps you can take now to make your home and property more fire resistant!

Three upcoming workshops will offer these topics:
• Creating defensible space around your home and outbuildings
• Reducing the fuel that keeps fires burning low to the ground and more difficult to fight
• Making a plan for your family to escape in the case of wildfire
• Connecting with technical assistance and limited financial assistance

The workshops are free to attend, but because space is limited, registration is required.

  • February 28: Estacada Community Center 200 SW Clubhouse Dr., Estacada
  • March 12: Molalla Grange Hall 127 Grange Ave., Molalla
  • April 4: Hoodland Fire Station 69634 E. Hwy 26, Welches

All workshops are 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

To reserve your seat contact Clackamas Soil and Water Conservation District 503-210-6000 or send an email message to [email protected]

The workshops are made possible through a partnership between the Clackamas Community College, Clackamas County Department of Disaster Management, Clackamas County Farm Forestry Association, Clackamas Soil and Water Conservation District, Oregon Department of Forestry, and Oregon State University Extension Service.
