Whole Farm Planning to Manage Pests and Minimize Pesticide Use: Christmas Tree Farm IPM Class

About the Workshop…By the end of this workshop you will have gained experience in planning for the implementation of on-farm habitat to support beneficial insects. Participants will plan an 18-month process that prepares sites for insectary plantings and select appropriate plants. Participants will also learn from fellow growers, large and small, about their experiences in trying to minimize pesticide uses.

Workshop participants will also use a new Extension publication about Christmas Tree IPM, learn how to assess their current IPM program, and learn how to select pesticides using newly-available data on efficacy, risks to wildlife, natural enemies, and pollinators. Clackamas SWCD staff will also provide information on a valuable windsock pesticide and drift reduction program and spray nozzle efficiency program.

For the complete agenda and more information please visit NWREC’s Christmas tree resource website.
Please register at the Clackamas County OSU Extension office by 4/10/16 by calling Jaen Bremer at 503-655-8631 or by email at [email protected]
