Tree School Field Day at Hopkins Demonstration Forest

Join us for Tree School Field Day on Saturday, October 23rd.

Clackamas Soil and Water Conservation District is happy to be participating in the second annual Tree School Field Day at the Hopkins Demonstration Forest in Oregon City! The day will include a schedule of field classes and learning opportunities throughout the demonstration forest for students to choose from. The wide variety of forest types and demonstrations at the 140 acres of Hopkins provides diverse learning opportunities for woodland owners, caretakers, and enthusiasts.

WeedWise Staff Lends Their Expertise

District staff members Justin Cooley and Monte Mattsson will be presenting a 75 minute course on “Principles of Weed Management.” The course will be given at 8:30 a.m. and again at 11:30 a.m. Be sure to sign up soon to take advantage of this great opportunity. Cooley and Mattsson are members of the District’s WeedWise Team and have many years of experience in the identification and management of invasive weeds.

Registration will be open until noon on Friday, October 6th or until capacity is reached. Register HERE.

There is a $30 registration fee and lunch will be provided.

Registration is required for all in attendance. There will be no walk-in registration. Please note that Hopkins Demonstration Forest will be closed to the public during this event.

Please note the course lineup may change prior to the Tree School Field Day, students will have the opportunity to rank their interests during registration which will influence the lineup and schedule. A schedule and map will be provided to registered attendees the day of the event.
