Our Conservation Resource Center is located in Beavercreek, Oregon.
Would you like to help protect the natural resources that make Clackamas County a great place to live, work, and play? The Clackamas Soil and Water Conservation District offers many ways for community members to get involved and make a difference.
Many people in Clackamas County have not yet heard of the District, and that is okay. We enjoy meeting new people and sharing information about our work. Many of our strongest partnerships begin with a conversation and a shared interest in caring for our local environment.
Who We Are
The Clackamas Soil and Water Conservation District is a special district, similar to a school or fire district. We are non-regulatory and are funded through a property tax levy approved by Clackamas County voters in 2006.
Our mission is to help residents, landowners, and community partners protect and improve natural resources, including soil, water, air, wildlife, and habitat. We work with people to meet their land management goals while supporting healthy ecosystems for future generations.
Community Leadership Opportunities
The District is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors elected by local voters. Board members represent communities throughout Clackamas County and help guide the District’s programs, priorities, and budget.
Community members can participate by attending board meetings, sharing comments, serving on committees, or exploring future leadership opportunities. Associate Director positions also provide a way to learn more about conservation issues and support the work of the Board.

Board members tour the Eagle Creek Community Forest.
Working Together for Greater Impact
Partnerships are an important part of our success. We work closely with watershed councils, farmers’ markets, schools, community organizations, and other natural resource partners.
The organizations we support share our vision and goals. Together, we reach more individuals, provide more education, and put more conservation practices on the ground.
Learn and Connect
The District offers workshops, presentations, and educational programs throughout the year. These events provide opportunities to learn about topics such as soil health, water quality, wildlife habitat, native plants, pollinators, stream restoration, and sustainable land management practices.
By participating in District programs, residents can gain valuable knowledge while helping protect local natural resources.
Stay Informed
All regular Board of Directors meetings are open to the public and are held both in person and online. Time for public comments is included at every meeting.
Meeting agendas, minutes, and educational resources are available on our website to help community members stay informed about District activities and decisions.
