Join us for the 36th Tree School on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Clackamas Community College!

This year’s event will offer 72 classes to support successful management of trees and forests. Class topics include:

Clackamas SWCD Staff, Justin Cooley, is a Presenter at Tree School 2026!

Clackamas SWCD WeedWise staff member, Justin Cooley, will be on hand to lead a session on Integrated Pest Management for Invasive Weeds from 8:15-9:45 a.m.  From the Tree School CatalogThe management of invasive weeds is best served through a process known as integrated  (IPM). IPM is a sustainable approach to managing pests by combining biological,cultural, physical, and chemical tools in a way that minimizes economic,health, and environmental risks. IPM programs use current, comprehensive information on the life cycles of pests and their interaction with the environment.

In this class, you will learn to understand the theory,principles, and practices of integrated pest management and how to choose the most appropriate method of control, with emphasis on least hazardous approaches. You’ll also learn about common invasives and approaches you can take to managing them on your property. ODA pest credits have been applied for.

Tree School is a collaborative effort led by the OSU Extension ClackamasCounty team, with a lot of help from local forestry community partners and volunteers. Key collaborators are Forests Forever, Inc., Clackamas County Farm Forestry Association, Clackamas Community College, and the Oregon Partnership for Forestry Education.
