Today we were fortunate to have the two experts available to talk about post-fire erosion control practices. Kathy Pendergrass the Oregon State Plant Material Specialist and Andrew Owen the Oregon State Forester both from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service found time to share with research results and personal experience in post-fire erosion control
In this webinar, we learned about what to look for in accessing individual properties and the erosion control practices that have the best possibility of success considering that fall rains are just around the corner. If you would like to see the presentations and listen to the webinar itself, you will find the presentation files and webinar link below.
We owe a big thank you to Kathy and Andrew who put this presentation together while also scrambling to develop emergency programs and work in the field to assess conditions. We also thank Eric Nusbaum with the Oregon Department of Agriculture for hosting today’s webinar.
Remember there are safety hazards on the properties affected by the wildfires. LOOK UP, LOOK DOWN, and LOOK AROUND for hazard trees and hot spots. Stay safe out there!
