The Clackamas County Soil and Water Conservation District was awarded the Cooperator of the Year award last week by the Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA). The annual Agricultural Progress Awards dinner was held on March 12th in Salem.
The District received the award in recognition of their commitment to conservation and for working with ODA to support its Agricultural Water Quality Program. Clackamas shares this award with Wasco County Soil and Water Conservation District located in The Dalles, Oregon.
This event celebrates progress in agriculture made through partnerships among business, higher education, and state government. Clackamas County Soil and Water Conservation District board members, Jan Lee and Joan Zuber, along with Michael Weinberg, director emeritus, and Tom Salzer, the District manager were on hand to receive this honor from ODA Director, Katy Coba.
