About Our Presenters, Joe Williams and Nick Sirovatka
USDA-NRCS Soil Specialists Joe Williams and Nick Sirovatka will lead this workshop. Joe Williams will talk about soil health principles. He will also specifically address conservation practices that can improve your soils during extreme weather conditions. Nick Sirovatka will demonstrate the rainfall simulator to show how vegetative cover can increase water infiltration and reduce erosion. This simulator will show in real time how different management decisions can affect your soil. Workshop participants will see first hand how addressing the four principles of soil health can lead to improved soil health for agricultural producers across a variety of production systems.
