Suzi’s love for animals and nature started early while working on farms and exploring the oak-covered hills near her childhood home.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology with a minor in animal management from the University of Rhode Island. For nearly 30 years, she has worked in many areas of biology and conservation, including water quality assessment and habitat restoration. She is passionate about helping people connect with nature and has mentored over 600 AmeriCorps members as they began their careers in natural resources.
Suzi joined the District as a Conservation Specialist in 2021 and enjoys helping landowners become good stewards of their land. She has a special interest in horse properties and loves helping owners find sustainable ways to manage their farms that benefit both the animals and the environment.
In her free time, Suzi runs a nonprofit equine sanctuary, explores the mountains identifying plants, and astounds her colleagues with her world-class dragon boat racing skills
