SUMMARY:Fire on the horizon: planning for post-fire recovery before wildfire strikes
DESCRIPTION:A workshop for landowners and natural resource professionals. \nJoin Clackamas County-OSU Extension for a combination of indoor presentation/discussion (90 minutes) and a field tour of post-fire recovery sites (4 hours). Workshop goals are to 1) help incorporate plans for post-fire recovery in your woodland management plans\, and 2) share lessons-learned from past fire recovery efforts to improve preparedness for the future. \nMajor topics include:\n• Assessing your risk\n• Making a plan – set goals and plan actions needed in the event of a wildfire\n• Getting practiced –options and methods for addressing post-fire woodland management needs\n• Getting connected – types and sources of assistance you may need for timely post-fire response\n• Learning from landowner experiences after the 2020 wildfires. \nPreparation:\n• Please bring your own lunch and refreshments for the field tour.\n• Dress for the weather\, wear boots for walking in the woods.\n• Be prepared to carpool in a van or possibly ride share with another participant. \nRegistration is required.

DESCRIPTION:To mark its history in the community\, we’re inviting artists to celebrate and interpret our old barn before its planned removal this fall. Artists from all media are welcome during this event. We’re inviting photographers to take photos. If you’re a painter\, bring your setup and paint in the open air. \nAnyone who creates an art piece has the opportunity to exhibit their work in our exhibition (see below) at the Hamlet of Beavercreek’s 20th Anniversary Celebration at the Beavercreek Demonstration Farm in July. Prizes will be awarded for the top 3 pieces as selected by attendees at the event. \nArtist days will be held at the Beavercreek Demonstration Farm on May 29 and 30\, 2026. Alternate Artist Days may be offered in the event of inclement weather.\nMay 29: 6:00 p.m.   – 10:00 p.m.   – Site open to photographers for sunset and moonrise.\nMay 30: 7:00 a.m.  – 1:00 p.m. – Site open to all media\n1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Mid-day break\n4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. – Site open to all media
