Are you a Christmas Tree Grower? Or maybe you know one? If so, take note! The Clackamas Soil and Water Conservation District is offering a FREE Christmas Tree Grower Field Day on Thursday, July 19, 2024 at 8:00 a.m. This field day will be held in Molalla at Green Valley Farm which is own by Terry and Bernice Muilenburg.
Christmas Tree Growers Field Day
Local growers will be on hand to talk about their experience with vegetation between the rows and field borders. We will also have a rainfall simulator that provides a great visual demonstration for understanding how vegetative cover helps rainfall infiltration, soil water holding capacity, and reduced soil temperatures in the summer. USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and Farm Services Agency staff will share information about funding opportunities.
Field Day participants will also have an opportunity to check out the District’s narrow vineyard drill at the event. This drill can fit between rows and is available for rent through our Equipment Rental Program.
Christmas Tree Growers who attend this educational event will benefit from:
- Local Grower Experiences
- Rainfall Simulator Demonstration
- Soil Health Information
- Financial Assistance Opportunities
