Small Farm School 2020 has adopted an online platform to deliver its content. Sessions will be delivered as webinars offered twice weekly on Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting on Thursday, September 17th and concluding in mid-November.

Learn the basics of starting your own poultry flock!

Experienced and knowledgeable presenters will lead online classes on a wide variety of topics to new and beginning farmers, as well as those farmers who are looking to build upon their skill sets. Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • New Farmers: Poultry for Beginning Farmers, How to Start a Farm Business
  • Land Care: Dry Farming, Pasture Management, Hemp Production, Soil Ecology
  • Marketing: Food Safety, Brand Identity, Running a CSA
  • Vegetables: Weed Control, Winter Vegetables
  • Flowers, Data Tracking, Bookkeeping, and more!

New for 2020 are sessions that focus on issues of equity and social justice in Oregon Agriculture. Session topics include:

  • Racism in Oregon Agriculture
  • Equitable Food Access
  • Farming While Black

Small Farm School attendees include beginning AND experienced farmers and small acreage landowners. Session topics change each year, so if you have attended in the past, join us again! There is always something new to learn.

    $35 general registration

  • $25 intern or college student registration

Registration will allow access to register for any session. Session registration will be available two weeks before the actual class offering. Some classes might be size-limited, so please register only if you are serious about attending. Registration includes access to recorded sessions to view on your own schedule.
