Community conservation focus for 2011-2012

The Clackamas County SWCD is very proud to be able to serve citizens throughout Clackamas County. Despite the tough economic conditions we all face, this will not change.

We are excited to announce a new way to achieve even better results: the community conservation program.

We work with individual landowners each and every day to address critical natural resource needs. We’ve learned that where one landowner has a natural resource issue, often neighboring landowners have similar or related issues.

What is community conservation?

Through our community conservation program, we’ll work with entire neighborhoods or subwatersheds to determine the resource issues across that landscape. By engaging community members in this work, we’ll be able to help many people at once in an integrated, “whole systems” approach to conservation.

We look forward to being able to report the success of this new program!
